Come to Swaffham Market - Swaffham, Norfolk

We had a lovely time at Swaffham Rugby club in the glorious Norfolk countryside. Barbara had seen the last part of a programme on BBC Passion for Churches, on the Church of St Mary Houghton-on-the-Hill, so we contacted Bob Davey a delightful man who is Church Warden and Clerk of Works and 76 years young. Bob spoke to 10 of us from the rally for about 2 hours.

The church is medieval and the foundations are built on a Roman remains. Under several layers of plaster they have found wall paintings. There is also an elderly monk who appears every now and then. Recently a local farmer said to Bob - "Who is that idiot in fancy dress that walked in front of my tractor?"

Also Kelvin and Loretta Hennis celebrated their 200th rally at the Swaffham Rally.
