Frequently Asked Questions

What was the Group rally?
The Group Rally was first held in 2000 to celebrate the Millenium. It was then repeated in 2003 and 2006. It was only made possible by very generous sponsorship from the Swift Group, their suppliers and dealerships. It was held in June each year and covered 4 nights. All proceeds went to charity.

Who attended?
The rally was open to members of the various owners clubs recognised by Swift - i.e. Abbey, Bessacarr, Eccles, Sterling, Swift and Swift Motorhomes.

Was it expensive?
The Group rally cost a great deal of money to stage. We could not have done it without the generous backing of our sponsors. As a result of their support the Group Rally fee for Club Members was very reasonable.

Will there be any more Group Rallies?
The adverse economic climate and crippling cost of fuel mean that it is unlikely there will be any further Group rallies of the same format. There will however be a big works rally for all the Clubs in the group and this will be held every other year.

Why was Cancer Research UK the chosen charity?
Because many members of the organising committee had been affected directly or indirectly by this terrible disease.
