Christmas Party Rally, Southend Bradfield, Reading
1-3 December

I know I was the marshal’s child but I have to say this was mind blowing, it was
so fun. We ran this rally and I’ll tell you what the CPGT’s did Christmas in
style! I’m positive you don’t want to hear about all of the boring junk so I’m
gonna go right into Saturday.
Elves, Santa, Mummy Santa and that was just for the adults! The children’s party
was action packed with games, food, elves and presents! Myself, Mel and Vikki
were elves; and of course there was Hannah who was an elf in training as she
hadn’t yet received her uniform. Firstly the children did a matching game where
they got a bit of cut up Christmas card and with the elves and Mummy Santa’s
help they had to find the other bits. We also did some dancing and other games
including pass the parcel. Myself and one of the Mummy Santa’s did a dance
during this where the rest of the elves joined in, but surprisingly they soon
left, I wonder why? Next we had a traditional Christmas dinner with turkey,
potatoes and the rest, but don’t worry there were no forced Brussels sprouts.
We
had Christmas crackers and every thing, in mine was a fortune telling fish…
which of course was ‘all I wanted for Christmas’! Next the highlight for all the
children – Santa!
And of course because of Santa’s age we the elves had to help him, so Santa and
his elves gave out Christmas presents and a bouncy balloon thing. We then had
photos with Santa done and of course Santa with his elves!
For the adults we had American supper, the selection of food was really great so
thanks to all who gave. To keep the children busy and out of Mummy, Daddy,
Grandma and Granddad’s hair (what’s left of it!) I hosted a crafts table which
everyone enjoyed. We made Christmas stockings, cards, gift tags, crackers and
lots more. The adult’s played a range of wacky games too!
At flag we decided not to wear our elf uniforms but we decided as it was a
formal occasion we would wear our hats. We did the usual with a twist – lucky
sleigh etc. Children’s sweets – everyone got a selection box. Through-out the
weekend the Christmas lights and Santa’s runway were amazing so thanks to the
marshals and everyone who helped I know everyone enjoyed it as much as I did.
