Catch 22 Rally - Radcot, 21st-24th June 2007

Tales of a riverbank
By Lucy Parsons
Inspired by David Bubb

Why did I bother sitting on the river bank?
Couldn’t even catch a tan,
Let alone any fish
The rain came and faces began to sank
But not for long the pimms was on its way.
The day before throwing fish out the river
One by one
Competition was on the wrong day
I heard them say

In the morning the sun was out
Silence as early morning woke
Men…and Alison, gnomes waiting
22? Hmmm…not many fish about
Exercise on a rally
Carrying mugs of tea, weightlifting, delivering
Then there was the bacon and sausage rolls
Up and down waitresses tally

*****

A really good weekend with congratulations to David Bubb for winning the adults catch 22 and Christopher Vowles who won the junior catch 22 trophies.

And also a big thanks to Dennis Tomlin who let me use his fishing gear on Saturday and also Tony Goodsell on the Friday, and to all the other parents and friends who let the juniors use fishing gear, without it we wouldn’t have had so many competitors.

Happy 50th rally to Sarah and Tony, and happy anniversary to my mum and dad (Brian and Denise Parsons), then not forgetting Alison’s birthday, all on the same weekend.

What a good weekend with lots of thanks!

Lucy
