New Forest Frolics Rally,
Fordingbridge, Hampshire, 25th - 28th September 2008
by Danielle Mann
After going on quite a few rallies as guests staying in my Nan and Grandad's caravan, my mum begged my dad to get a caravan. He finally agreed so we looked on the Internet and managed to get one in August. My first rally was in The New Forest, it started on the Thursday but I had school so we didn’t go till the Friday evening, so when we arrived there were many caravans already there. The Marshals welcomed us with open arms and I mean that literally, because they were our family. It was almost dark when we arrived so they helped us set up. We had green flag next to our van to show we were on our first rally.
On the first night we went into the party tent for Tea, Coffee, Hot Chocolate and Biscuits. We made friends with some other rally goers and had a chat.
On the Saturday we played Wacky Games which included Velcro Darts, Ball in a Bucket. Pegs, Bowls and Crown Darts. Which was very fun indeed, the rest of the day was just to relax. When it got to the evening we had a evening playing a game of skittles which was fun. The drinks and refreshments were all supplied, and were tasty.
On the Sunday we had the flag where the competition prizes were announced. My family, Paula, Greg, Abi and myself were called up to get our First rally Plaque and were welcomed to the club properly. It was also the co-marshals (my Nan and Grandad) 50th rally as well, so it was big for them too. There was a raffle and there were lots of prizes, I only won 1 prize as did my Mum and Dad but my sister didn’t, never mind maybe she will next time.
I really enjoyed my first rally as did my family and I am looking forward to my next really which is the Halloween rally in Kent.
Can’t wait!!!
