New Year At Newbury!

Firstly may I say I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and I look forward to seeing you all on the rally field as your new editor! Being involved with the marshalling team, I know how much preparation was done which to be honest were excuses to go out for a meal! But really the hard work put into a New Year rally is enormous and great fun. So next a big thank you to the marshalling team!

Getting onto the rally itself, Saturday we set up the hall in lights, decorations and started on the raffle table, followed by preparing jacket potatoes and fillings, in between trying to juggle a pantomime rehearsal! Sunday was another long day, in the morning we had yet again another pantomime rehearsal, but we needed it! We then went to TESCO and pottered around. While we were all scurrying around, Tony was hard at work preparing a roast dinner, vegetables and everything! We all got ready for the gala dinner, but as soon as we were ready with our dresses and heels on the aprons soon went straight on, looks good! The tables looked amazing! All in silver and purple! While everyone was entertained by the ‘sunset duo’, Kelly and Dave, people tucked into their four course meals under the candlelight.

And finally the big bang had come! New Years Eve say goodbye to 2k7! The Morning was a blur as any other morning tech/dress pantomime rehearsals and preparing buffet food, by Tony managing only to burn the pizza! So a dash to TESCO soon sorted that!

New Years Eve, everyone was ready to party! And drink! Especially before the panto! But all went of well with lines shoved down tutus, into hats, up sleeves or prompting by the dazzling Alison our director! Another creation from Richard this time a pink bulldozer, amazing! After more games and dancing!

Happy New Years!
