Truma Heater - changing battery?

Postby mike142sl » April 12th, 2009, 1:08 pm

OK, I'm full of maintenance questions now the van is two years old.

How the heck do you remove the front of the heater so that I can replace the ignition battery?. I've managed to pull the top forward as described in the book, but then it says I need to raise the springs with my fingers. Well 1. I can't get my fingers in the gap! and 2. they seem quite solid?

Any tips or tricks anyone?

Hi Mike, you should be able to ease the springs with a screwdriver through the slats on the front of the cover.

Turns out there is a transit screw fitted along the top ? Can only be seen through the top grill, so having removed it I can now easily remove the front of the heater and replace the battery.
