Conqueror 480 Water Heater Cowl

Postby TrevR » March 6th, 2010, 6:42 pm

I thought that Truma water heaters could be run on electricity with the outside cowl left on, but it had to be removed when run on gas. The instruction with my new caravan implies that the cowl has to be removed no matter which power source is used. Is this correct?

I don't think so. I can see no reason to remove the cowl for electric only operation. I've read the 2010 Swift Caravan handbook operating instructions for the heater and can see no implication that the cowl should be removed for electric only operation. For gas operation cowl removal is instruction no. 1.
