Sixties Swingers -  St Albans, Herts.

12-14th October 2007

Maureen Goff had thought it would be a good idea for all those who were 60 years young to celebrate this milestone birthday together. The swingers included our Chairman John Brailsford, Jackie Coller Maureen Goff, Val House, Tony Hawkins, Sandra Milson, Janet Ratcliffe, Fran Perry and Dennis Tomlin

In the afternoon we had a tea dance which was organised by Tony and Frankie assisted by Ray and Val. The hall had been decorated with lights and balloons and looked lovely. We had two young swingers as D.J's. the happy duo of Tony Hawkins and Ray House. Val was front of house organising the dancing and Frankie behind the tea pot. We had tea/coffee and a selection of cakes.

In the evening we went back to the hall and were greeted with a glass of Champagne. This was followed by a superb buffet and delicious deserts. Our swinging D.J's then continued for the rest of the evening with a mixture of all types of dancing old and new, ancient and modern.

Even the wild life were intelligent Martin saw a bird fly into the skip and come out with a small clear plastic bag, he then flew to a wall and turned the bag upside down looking to see if there was something to eat.

It was a lovely afternoon and evening which had been a lot of hard work. Grateful thanks to our splendid marshals Tony and Frankie Hawkins, Maureen and Michael Goff and Ray and Val House and to all our swingers and helpers who made this happen.

P.S. Don't forget your concessions discounts at B & Q, Wyevale Garden Centre, free eye test and your bus pass.
