As we were in the area we checked with the marshals if it was o.k. for us to arrive on Thursday. It was a lovely day and although the rally did not start until the next day, on arrival was immediately offered a cup of tea from Di which was most welcoming. After having sited we decided to walk along the seafront at Burnham on Sea. As usual for that area the sea was nowhere to be seen but it was nice just to enjoy the early March sunshine. When we arrived back on site Terry and Sandra had just arrived and once again had a nice cup of tea.

Friday arrived and I had to do my retail therapy, and went off to Street Outlet Centre (Pete really enjoyed that). That evening we had the usually get together with tea/coffee and sampled some of Sandra’s home made biscuits (yummy).  We met two first time ralliers, John and Marianne Fitch and Chris and Carol Butler we welcomed them and enjoyed their company, and hope that we will see them on another rally soon.

Saturday was a cloudy but dry day and we went to Highbridge Caravan Centre. It was their open day and we had a look around and met several other Swifties there. From there we went to Weston-Super-Mare to have a look at the pier to see how the work was progressing after the fire there last year, it was looking very good. In the evening we all went to the Berrow Inn arranged by the marshals for a lovely meal. There was a good choice from the menu and the food was lovely. After the meal Terry had arranged for us to have the use of the skittle alley so a fun time was had by all and rounded off the evening lovely.

Sunday we awoke to beautiful sunshine after a very hard frost. The wind was quite strong and cold. We all met in the tea tent for flag and Terry welcomed the new ralliers officially into the club and hoped that they had enjoyed it, (they have already booked into another rally). Pete Vowles, the acting ACM presented them with their first time rally plaques and said that even though it was a small rally with only 8 vans the amount of work that the marshals put into it was the same, so a big thank you to the hard working marshals Terry and Sandra Milsom, Greg and Di Stokes for a lovely peaceful rally.
