A Warm Welcome to the Wolds

South Lea CP, Pocklington, E. Yorks

10 - 13th March 2011

The Yorkshire Wolds are low hills in the counties of East Riding of Yorkshire and North Yorkshire. It’s a beautiful, peaceful area, rich in history and picturesque villages. An ideal location for a rally then and that’s how we came to stay on the well run South Lea Caravan Park at Pocklington in East Yorkshire.

Throw in 16 amp electrics and the lively marshalling team of Gill & Clive Bevan and Kathy & Hamish McIntyre and it was a rally not to be missed. High winds on the Thursday caused some to arrive a day late but those who did brave the weather were rewarded with a great 3 night rally.

The idea of as communal BBQ on the Saturday was always going to be a bit optimistic at this time of year but the tea tents did provide a cosy environment for a get together in the evening.

Mick and Dee Foster and their son Alex used the occasion to celebrate their 100th rally. The celebration should have taken place at nearby Fangfoss in January but bad weather put paid to that.

Thanks to the marshals for a great time, we might be back next year!
