We feel that we can safely speak on behalf of all who attended this pre Christmas Rally in saying this was a superb start to the build up to Christmas Day.  Nothing had been left to chance by our Marshalls John & Vail Brailsford and Colin & Betty Patterson to ensure all had a great time

Many ralliers arrived on this well run commercial site on the Thursday, where each van was met and sited by John and Colin. It did not matter some vans were sited on a rather soggy rally field as all had electrics and we are sure most ralliers had wellies at the ready. On reading the ‘what’s on leaflet’ and taking receipt of what looked like a very easy (ha ha) Christmas anagram competition the weekend started in earnest.

The Club had the use of the well heated Rally Barn each evening – Chris and Chris, owners of the site had ensured the Christmas spirit was the name of the game as not only were there lights outside the Barn but tree, tinsel, santas, snowmen and decorations were around the inside walls and ceiling..

Thursday evening was a meet and greet over tea / coffee and biscuits in the Barn – it was good to meet up with old friends as well as making new friends.

Friday was a free day to explore the Cheshire area to return to the Barn in the evening for a hot two course meal, cooked and served by the site owners.  Great comfort food and a warming start to the evening entertainment when John invited Keith Turner to make a presentation to Dennis and Joyce Smith on reaching their 100th Rally.

Joyce in return, on behalf of herself and Dennis, made a very tasty fruit cake, iced and decorated in SOC colours for distribution to all – it was lovely.  Following the presentation a lot of laughter took place for the quiz Val had compiled – it’s a good job Val has broad shoulders as she got flack from us all – the quiz must have definitely been devised by Mensa !!!!

Saturday once again was a free day but by 6pm all had ‘dolled’ themselves up for the Christmas three course turkey meal plus mince pies.  The owners of the site had set the tables with crackers & poinsettias – they looked really pretty. The food was excellent, complemented by a bottle of red and white wine being placed on each table by John and Val in celebration of their Ruby Wedding Anniversary.

After the meal Betty presented John and Val with an anniversary card on behalf of us all.  In the meanwhile Colin returned yet again with his good humour getting more money out of the ralliers to buy yet more raffle tickets.

There was definitely a lot of fun and games involved for the evening entertainment from playing pass the parcel, spot dancing and being entertained by Tina Daniels aka stage name of Nikki Leonard.  The final part of the evening was to take part in dances such as the Hokey Cokey and Simon Says.  A great evening entertainment ran by four great Marshalls.

The fun continued at Flag on Sunday morning where lots of raffle prizes were available.  Presentations and grateful thanks were once again made to the site owners and Marshalls as well as many Christmas Cards being circulated.

John, Val, Colin and Betty  - A HUGE THANK YOU TO EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU
