8-10 February

It was great to get back on the road with the caravan again as it appeared a long time from our last rally in June 2012 to February 2013 due to health problems.

The weather was not on its best behaviour but a little better than previous years with frost but no snow this time the Aquaroll had its anorak on and sitting on a polystyrene block but we had no bother with it freezing nor with the insulated waste pipes.

We arrived to a warm welcome from the marshals David & Linda Hill aided by Keith & Diane Phipps. They even gave me a level spot without the use of blocks, so that was a good start.

Friday is always a good night where we are warm and can chat to all the other ralliers and catch up with what we had been missing. Soup and a roll were served to warm you up and tea and/or coffee at your disposal. Like all good events it was soon time to go back to the van. It was quite frosty but the van was comfortable.

Saturday was reasonable weather and we had a drive around the area and did a little retail therapy. The evening had the now infamous fish and chip or pie suppers with David’s onion gravy and tea, coffee etc. Followed by the Keith’s quizzes which think were enjoyed by all.

The Flag was Sunday morning, followed by the raffle that had some very nice prizes. The run home was uneventful.

I wish to thank the marshals for their hard work and for a most enjoyable weekend.
