2005/6 New Year Rally - Swanwick

The weekend started on Friday with everyone gathering in the hall for a fairly quite evening. However the competitions and the large ‘feely’ box kept everyone busy for hours .

Saturday morning a lot of ralliers headed for the local outlet village to pick up some sale bargains but returning in plenty of time for the New Year’s Eve celebrations.
The evening started with Mr Bonkers arranging lots of games for the children . We then had a wonderful buffet which had been prepared for us by our marshals. Once that had settled we were all up on the dance floor to dance the night away to Mr Bonkers until 3am.

Sunday morning breakfast of bacon and sausage baps was prepared for us at a very sensible hour of 11am.In the evening we had a very large spread for the American Supper followed by live music provided by a duo called “Thriller” who had everyone up dancing again until late evening.

Barry and Marion Brown had a special celebration over the weekend . They are the first couple to have reached the milestone of 500 rallies. They were presented with their plaque and bar by John Brailsford and received a gift from Tony Hailey on behalf of the Swift Group .We would like to thank them for the delicious hot beef baps, cake and wine they shared with us all during the weekend to celebrate .

I would like to thank the marshals David & Linda, Merv & Sue and Keith & Diane and the hall decoration team for all their hard work in making it a very enjoyable weekend.
