Calor gas may not be the cheapest but there's no doubting the quality of their brand. March 2008 saw the launch of their new lightweight steel 6kg cylinder with an empty weight of only half that of the traditional cylinder. At the time of launch these cylinders carried a £3 premium to 'recoup investment costs'. Calor has hundreds of outlets countrywide and you can also order online for home delivery at a cost of just £2.50 per delivery. Thetford made its name in mobile sanitation solutions setting up a factory in the UK in 1971 to make the ever popular Porta Potti range of products. Since then Thetford has transferred its HQ to Holland and moved into the absorption refrigerator market where it continues to gain market share. Their UK sales and service centre is located in South Derbyshire. Truma has two sister companies. The first is the Swedish company Alde, who manufacture the wet heating sytems found in some top of the range caravans and motorhomes.
