13 Pin Wiring Details

Beware that there is more than one colour scheme but pins 1 to 7 inclusive are colour coded the same in each. These colours and pin numbers are also the same as those used on the 7 pin 12N plug.

13 Pin Wiring footnote

It is possible to get adaptors that convert two 7 pin sockets on the towbar to a single 13 pin ISO socket, and vice versa.

Please be aware that some car and adaptor manufacturers don’t provide the fridge power connections (pins 10 & 11). Volkswagen Audi Group (VAG) cars produced between 2006 and 2009 appear to be an example of this. In these cases you may even find that pins 10 & 11 are missing completely.

If this happens to you consider calling in a good towbar fitter. He will be aware of the problem and know what to do.
