Log in problems?
Some users have been reporting problems whereby they log in successfully but when automatically transferrd from the login page back to the main board they find they have been logged out. I have identified this as a cookie issue and made a change to the board settings which should resolve it for most people.
If you do experience this problem it could be that the cookie settings on your browser are to blame. First though try deleting all board cookies. To do this look for the link immediately below the 'Feedback about these boards' section on the main index page. This is the page that loads when you first enter the forum boards.
If this does not help and you are using Internet Explorer go to Tools/Internet Options/Privacy and ensure the slider is set to the bottom position. Click OK then shut down and re-start your browser. This should cure the problem. You can then try moving the slider up until you find the highest setting at which you can still login without a problem. In most cases the board works fine with the slider set to medium high.
General Information
There
are four forums available, the General Chatter forum, a Technical forum,
a For
Sale/Wanted forum and the Stolen Van
Information forum. Each forum is open to Club members and non-members
alike. A comprehensive set of FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) on how to use
the boards is provided. Please us that to find answers to any questions not
covered here. You can view all the forums as a visitor but to post a message or
take part in a poll you must register To do this, simply click on the link at
the top of the Forums page and follow the instructions. New to these boards is
the ability for you to select an avatar to be displayed alongside your message.
An avatar is simply a small image or clipart designed to add a bit of fun
character to your post. You cannot upload your own avatar but there is a fair
selection to choose from. Beware that two or more people can choose the same
avatar.
All the forums
are actively monitored so please do not post anything that is rude, derogatory
or otherwise offensive. If you do your permission to use the boards will be
revoked. Please note that, once you have registered, the forums use cookies to
save your details for when you revisit. It is therefore important that
cookies are enabled in your web browser settings.
The General Chatter forum is provided for general postings, but please be
aware that jokes and stories are not considered chit-chat as the nature of these
types of message is such that you are generally bound to offend someone.
The Technical forum is provided as a self-help area for the discussion of technical matters. The Club regrets that it does not have the resources to provide personal help to non-members. Club Members requiring help can contact the Club's Technical Officer, whose contact details can be found in Going Places, the Rally Book or on the Member's Only website. Please quote your membership number in any communications.
The For Sale/Wanted forum may be used to advertise caravanning related items but please note that any caravans offered for sale should be Swift and not other brands. If you wish to post an image you will have to host it on a publicly available server and 'point' to it. It is now possible to upload images. Club members who struggle with this technicality can ask me do do it for them. Please note this service is not available to non-members. This forum is restricted to private users only. Adverts by traders will be removed.
The Solen Van Information forum is place where anyone can enter information on stolen Swift motorhomes and caravans. This information is vital to the police (who hopefully already have it) and to prospective purchasers.
Shouting
Shouting by using all capitals or large fonts will not be tolerated. Repeat offenders will be barred.
If you think you have got lost, click on the Board index link (top left hand, in the thin grey bar) and this will take you back to the main lobby. Within our Message Boards, rather than post a message, you may choose to send a private email to another registered user. You may also send a private email to the Webmaster.
